A packed afternoon of discussion and reflection at the “Melotti” Auditorium in Rovereto, dedicated to the world of competitive skiing and the liability of athletes and federations: Jacopo Tognon was among the speakers.
The event, organized in collaboration with local institutional and sports bodies, registered over two hundred participants, including legal professionals, federal coaches, executives, and skiing enthusiasts.
In his speech, entitled “CAS Jurisprudence in the Winter Olympic Games,” Mr. Tognon offered an in-depth analysis of the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s jurisprudence regarding cases related to the Winter Olympic Games. He focused specifically on issues of disciplinary liability and athlete protection, citing concrete examples from his own professional experience.
His contribution highlighted how international sport law is evolving towards greater attention to ethics, safety, and the integrity of competitions.
The meeting, which also saw the participation of the FISI (Italian Winter Sports Federation) President, Flavio Roda, concluded with an open dialogue and Q&A session with the audience, demonstrating the growing interest in collaboration between law, sports institutions, and competitive organizations.
A significant opportunity to reaffirm the role of law as a tool for guarantee, responsibility, and sustainable development in contemporary sport.
